The Sapphire Coast Orchid Club’s Winter Show is an annual event in Merimbula. In August, the Sapphire Coast Orchid Club puts on a relaxing evening to showcase the best orchids in the area. In addition to native plants, there are many exotic orchids featured during the event. This unique activity will give you the chance to learn more about these beautiful plants and find out how to grow your own once the holiday is over. The option to purchase some of the orchids on display is included every year. You also have the chance to participate in workshops ranging from beginner gardeners to expert growers. Cymbidium orchids, Rock Lily orchids, Slipper orchids, Cattleyas and others will be included.  

 

Annual Merimbula Classic 

 

The annual Merimbula Classic has become a popular tradition in the city. With a focus on waves and wind, the event attracts many participants and visitors in November. Paddle surfers, kite surfers, wave sailors and others join the festivities to show off their skills and entertain the crowds. More than 200 competitors joined the event the previous year, and organizers have noticed the number is growing each time the event is held. Over the course of four days, everyone can participate in exciting parties and watch the competitors fight to be the champions. In addition to watching the competition, visitors can browse the many tents that offer merchandise and try their own kite surfing techniques.
